IT SUPPORT ENGINEER / BUSINESS PARTNER
Proactech provides IT, Internet services and telephony support for small businesses. It is a successful business with a stable client base and strong revenue streams. It has been trading since 1998.
A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY
If owning and running your own business is your ambition this is a golden opportunity to avoid the pain and risk associated with a new start-up but fulfil your dream of developing a thriving business.
Proactech is a small intimate business with just a single (working) share holder looking to expand with your help. You will need to be an individual willing and able to take on and meet both business and technical challenges.
The rewards will be a modest basic salary of around £20k p.a. augmented with a profit and/or equity share. There will be absolutely no cap on this; it will be governed solely by the profits that you help generate. You will be able to build your equity share to 50% and in the fullness of time have the opportunity to buy the business outright.
No up -front capital is required but an immediate equity share would be available with an initial investment. My current plan is to retire from actively managing the business within five years.
If you are attracted by the prospect of an uncapped profit related salary but not by the prospect of owning and running your own business we would welcome your application too, but please indicate this preference in your covering letter.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Extensive experience and knowledge of Microsoft products, especially server operating systems (mainly small business server, from SBS 2000 up).
Extensive experience and knowledge of TCP/IP and Ethernet networking – both WAN and LAN.
Experience and knowledge of IP telephony and an appreciation of legacy phone systems.
Comprehensive understanding of Internet services, DNS configuration and an appreciation of web design and SEO.
The ability to design and implement appropriate and productive IT systems to meet the needs of individual clients.
Please note: it is expected that the right person would be able to enhance / acquire any specific skills that they presently do not have.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
The skills, maturity and motivation to build your own business.
A mature business orientated attitude.
Excellent client facing skills and a high level of customer service.
The ability to communicate complex technical issues at all levels.
To fulfil the potential of this offer you must make a long term commitment and be willing to expend large amounts of energy. You will probably be either a highly motivated but frustrated wage slave, or perhaps someone that has recently suffered redundancy, looking to strike out on their own account. Age is no barrier, in fact a high level of maturity is essential.
